Despite Leon selling twenty percent of his company, he still had to go to work. It just meant he kept hours that were a little closer to normal.

A little.

He still owned part of a company that brought in major cash, and that meant he woke up at six thirty in the morning instead of five, and he came home at five in the afternoon, instead of damn near close to midnight, or even past midnight in some cases.

For the first few days, Will had watched his mate with amusement. Leon had come home later than most white-collar guys, but it was still so early compared to what he was used to. He seemed to wander around the house in a daze, unsure of how he wanted to spend all this new free time that was on his hands.

His first choice was, of course, sex. Given that Will’s hormones were out of whack, he was more than happy to give Leon what he needed whenever he so much as asked.

Those were great.

Leon’s second choice was to spend more time in his alpha shape, prowling around the backyard, scaring the squirrels. Will thought that was cute.

Another checkup later, and Will was given permission to spend the entire day out of bed. He wasn’t allowed to do any major exercise, jogging, heavy lifting, that sort of thing, but he was finally free, and he could drive.

The first thing he did was drive to the building where Leon worked to drop off some lunch for both him and Max.

What he hadn’t expected was for Eric to be there when he showed up.

The man was yelling so loud that Will could hear him from the lobby room just outside of Leon’s office.

The blond receptionist behind her desk looked incredibly uncomfortable as she spoke on her phone, trying to work despite the shouting that was happening in the other room.

And Will wasn’t going to lie. Part of him felt the almost unmistakable urge to spy, to listen in to what was being said about him and about Leon, but he didn’t want to do that. He didn’t want to be the sort of partner who spied on his lover.

So he walked up to the door and opened it, letting himself in.

Leon and Eric were in the center of the office. It almost looked like they were having some sort of standoff, with the major difference being that only Eric looked like he was in for a fight.

His stance, feet apart, back straight as he yelled up into Leon’s face said as much.

Leon’s arms were crossed and his hair was in a shaggy lion’s mane around his face. Had it not been for that, there might not have been any outward sign that he was annoyed with what was happening. The fact that the lion was struggling to come out meant he was pissed. He stared at Eric with an uncaring expression on his face. Will almost felt a touch of pity for the other human for being so passionate about how hurt he was when Leon hardly seemed to care.
